CastleGarden offers free access to a database of information on 10 million immigrants from 1830 through 1892, the year Ellis Island opened. Over 73 million Americans can trace their ancestors to this early immigration period.
United States. Ellis Island Foundation, Inc
From 1892 to 1924, more than 22 million immigrants, passengers, and crew members came through Ellis Island and the Port of New York. The ship companies that transported these passengers kept detailed passenger lists, called "ship manifests." Thanks to the generous efforts of volunteers these manifests have been transcribed into a vast electronic archive, which you can easily navigate in search of an individual passenger.

The DAR Patriot Index contains names of Revolutionary patriots, both men and women, whose service (between 1775 and 1783) has been established by the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution. Additional information available may include: dates and places of birth and death, name(s) of wife (wives) or husband(s), rank, type of service, and the State where the patriot lived or served. If pension papers are known to exist, that fact will be included.

The Nationwide Gravesite Locator includes burial records from many sources. These sources provide varied data; some searches may contain less information than others. Information on veterans buried in private cemeteries was collected for the purpose of furnishing government grave markers, and we do not have information available for burials prior to 1997.

These draft registration cards comprise an invaluable genealogical resource. Because many states did not have registration of births in the years 1872-1900, these cards can be considered delayed birth registrations. They show middle names, birth locations or complete dates of birth.

The General Land Office Automated Records Project is responsible for making these important documents available on the Internet.
